February - #2 Sawtooth Block

Here is a link to the Youtube Video Tutorial for the Sawtooth Block.

Refer to the last blog post to make your 4 1/2 inch square half-square triangles (HSTs).

For the Sawtooth Block, I chose a random assortment. However, since the charm square packages had so many different colors, I chose to sort the colors into multiple piles and choose different piles for each block.

Squint at your fabrics to check the light and darks of color placement. You may want to swap a few blocks here and there.

Use column chain-piecing to connect the rows. Do not cut the threads until each column is sewn.

Nest the seams and then sew the cross- seam.

Nicely done! You now have completed February's Sawtooth Block.

Here is the plan for the remaining blocks. We will progress from easiest to hardest.
